Entrevista a Poncho-K

Ha firmado con su letra y voz cuatro álbumes titulados: No Quiero Empates, Destino de Pluma y Mano, Cuantovaqueré y Cantes Valientes, además de el libro de poemas Zurraspas. Su música se podría definir como Rock con pinceladas flamencas, punk rabioso, poesía callejera … se podría definir de mil maneras y de solo una; Simplemente Poncho-K. Simplemente Úniko.
Estrenas nuevo disco, gira, DVD, compañía… ¿suponemos que estaras contento?
Sí, estoy muy contento. Con la compañía de Puta madre, porque fue un intento frustrado la primera vez que estuve allí por la comunicación, bueno el interlocutor que era el manager que estaba en medio, distorsionaba un poco la información entre artista y compañía. Y con el disco muy contento, la gente está respondiendo muy bien; a mi me gusta mucho que es lo principal y a los medios también les está gustando bastante.
Es la primera vez que grabas con Fernando Montesinos, ¿Qué tal la producción?
Sí, bueno eso fue una proposición de la compañía (Sony BMG) y a mi me gustó, me dejó hacer lo que yo quería y no me puso pegas en ningún momento y le dio un punto ahí muy guapo al disco, me gustó mucho la experiencia.
¿Cómo han surgido las colaboraciones? ¿Las tenias pensadas o fueron surgiendo conforme componías las canciones?
Las canciones se han hecho normal como siempre, yo hago las canciones y luego se me ocurrió meter a Manolo kabezabolo, a Evaristo de Gatillazo, a mi viejo que también hizo un cachito y al Niño Josele tocando la guitarra, que somos compañeros de la compañía y tengo muy buen rollo con él.
¿Cómo te está yendo la gira? ¿Está siendo como las anteriores o mejor? ¿Hay más público?
Bueno al principio empezó un poco floja, empezamos en Andalucía, los carteles llegaron tarde, un poco de descoordinación, fue todo un poco todo descompensado, pero después ha ido subiendo cada vez a más y hasta el último concierto ha ido creciendo en todo momento. El último creo que fue en Murcia y estuvo de puta madre, estuvo hasta arriba.
¿Crees que tienes un estilo propio e inconfundible?
No lo sé. Yo intento sacar lo que hay en mí, vaciarme y no parecerme a nadie. Supongo que será la gente que me escuche quien lo tenga que decir.
“Un carnívoro cuchillo” es un poema de de Miguel Hernández, ¿Por qué elegiste este poema? ¿Qué tiene de especial?
Primero por lo original de hacerle un poema al “carnívoro cuchillo”, el significado que tiene y a parte Miguel Hernández es un tío que siempre me ha gustado y además ha sido un tío humilde del pueblo, que ha estado ahí a las duras y las maduras. Pasó la guerra civil, estuvo animando a la gente en la guerra; su historia me parece muy interesante y lo que escribe también por lo tanto, porque era de verdad lo que decía.
¿Cómo te ha influido la piratería? ¿Crees qué te ha perjudicado o te ha beneficiado?
Bueno, ha perjudicado a la venta del disco, cosa que a mi en realidad tampoco es que me importe mucho, porque eso le deja a la compañía. Indirectamente, pues ya sabes, como a cualquier artista si no vende un numero de discos las compañías no te fichan, ellos tienen que vender discos que es el resultado para seguir apostando por ti. Pero bueno yo creo que también he ganado público, porque mucha peña se puede bajar de Internet el disco, que no se lo puede comprar o que no se lo piensa comprar se lo baja de Internet, porque es gratis y he ganado un tío más que me sigue.
Referido al DVD que grabaste en Caravanchel, ¿Se hace igual un concierto que se graba en DVD? ¿Es especial o es más complicado? ¿Te gustó como quedó?
Nunca te gusta como queda las cosas del todo ¿no?, supongo que será por exigencia o por que te ves raro en la tele, pero un concierto normal, hicimos un bolo allí en Caravanchel con la gente y lo hicimos igual que siempre, pero se grabó es el único aliciente que tiene.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de tu profesión?
Que hago lo que quiero, es lo que más me gusta, no tienes horarios para nada, haces las cosas cuando quieres, compones si quieres o sacas el disco o no; te guías por lo que te parece.
¿Y lo qué menos te gusta?
¿Lo que no me gusta?, pues la verdad es que no he encontrado una cosa que no me guste nada, nada. Bueno la furgoneta es lo que más por culo me da, eso de estar ocho horas ahí metido tiene su encanto, pero acabas harto.
¿Has descartado muchas canciones para este disco?
Pues se quedaron dos fuera, porque cuando las grabamos a mi no me gustaron, le faltaron algo, no se lo que era, pero no tenían ese punto que tenia las otras para mí.
¿Te has planteado conquistar las Americas?
Estamos en ello, bueno las Americas no se. Se editará el disco, si se puede, con la editorial que quieren sacarlo en Argentina y bueno si, en México y en Chile, o algo así. Ya veremos si en un futuro hacemos una gira, si hay buenas condiciones. Pero vamos, de momento por aquí por la península es lo que más me apetece ahora mismo.
¿Te aburre tocar las canciones de los primeros discos en directo?
Siempre las tocamos en directo, hay un poquito de cada, del primero, segundo y hasta el cuarto, así está la cosa compensada, del que menos hay es del cuarto, porque se van a ir metiendo temas poco a poco en este año, hasta que estén todas .
¿Te ves muchos años en esto de la musica?
Pues yo creo que sí, ¿Por qué no?, yo creo que voy a estar aquí hasta que me muera, voy a morir con las botas puestas; es lo que mejor se hacer.
¿Qué prefieres, sala o macroconcierto?
A mi me gusta rollo sala, porque es más intimo, es más cercano, más de la gente, yo soy así, me gusta estar con la gente y sentir el calor.
Hay un cantante que dice, “El tiempo es un chivato cabrón que nos pone a cada uno en nuestro sitio” ¿Tú crees que Poncho está en su sitio?
Pues no se, no lo he pensado nunca. Yo creo que si, muchas veces el tiempo es corto o llega tarde, o sea yo creo que habría que esperar un poco para estar en mi sitio, supongo bajo mi concepto de lo que es el merecimiento del trabajo de cada uno. Hoy por hoy, la verdad no estoy descontento, pero no lo se, no sabría que responderte en realidad.
¿Has compuesto canciones alguna vez para otros artistas? ¿Te gusta que canten tus canciones?
Una vez le compuse una canción a Boikot “Soy preso” se la escribí y la publicaron, además la sacaron de single en el disco. Y si, me gusta, ahora me he planteado escribir algún tema para la peña que me lo ha pedido, aunque soy muy selectivo, tiene que ser alguien que me llegue mucho y que las valla a cantar de una forma que no la “moñee”.
En tu carrera has hecho muchas colaboraciones, ¿Quién te gustaria que colaborara en tu futuros discos?
Con Extremoduro si que me gustaría hacer algo algún día.
Cuando rellenas un formulario, ¿Cómo te defines profesionalmente?
Yo no relleno formularios (risas), bueno alguno he rellenado, pero cuando lo hago pongo que soy mecánico y ya esta; que por papeles es lo que soy, un mecánico que es lo que estudié. Yo me defino como un paquete con un poquito de todo, ademas son los demás quienes tienen que decirlo. Yo soy un buscavidas, me busco la vida cada día, cada rato, si tengo que venderte el frigorífico para comer ese día te lo vendo y ya está, y al día siguiente me subo a un escenario y toco, porque es lo que me toca.
Si Ernesto Canalla (guitarra) se fuera a tocar con otro grupo, ¿Quién te gustaría que lo sustituyera?
Pues no se, no lo tengo en mente, nunca lo he pensado; porque no concibo la idea ahora mismo de que se vaya Ernesto. Estoy contento con mi banda o equipo.
¿Has olvidado los violines y trompetas del primer disco?
Bueno no, no están olvidados, lo que pasa es que es un poco complicado y ahora mismo me apetece pues hacer más rock and roll directo y ya está. Pero si que en un futuro seguramente que haré algo con trompetas y violines, me gusta el rollo, pero ya veré el momento.
Por ultimo ¿Qué consejo le darías a un chico que va a firmar por primera vez con una discográfica?
Pues que tenga mucho cuidadito, que lea muy bien lo que va a firmar; lo que te diría cualquiera, un padre… no se, y ya está, que se prepare para ver lo que no se imagina.

Really this is a question only you can answer. If your clubs are working and feeling good then don’t change. If they are getting too short then you really don’t have a choice. Your club when standing should sit somewhere between your belly button and Your sternum (where your rib cage meets) Obviosly if you are still growing you will eventually need new clubs. And if you want to take up golf very seriously then don’t hesitate when you are ready, or you will just find yourself getting frustrated with your clubs that are too small and not enjoying the game.

Cute videos and a thorough evaluation I have noticed about Flip. A year ago, I was thrilled to release a video cast and trying to find a mini cam suits my needs. In the end of the day I bought a Sanyo Xacti HD1000 for more professional stuff but nevertheless looking for a tiny device I can carry around.I received my MinoHD for Xmas and the video is not jittery or pixelated on mine, regardless of the lighting conditions. Would it be possible the firmware on your MinoHD is an older version?

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
